From time to time, golfers may come across an exceptional golf course that they want to play again and again - Walden Lake Golf & Country Club's Hills course is one such course. Located in Plant City, outside of the Tampa Bay area, the Hills course at Walden Lake is designed to test any golfer’s skills - all while soaking up the sun in a peaceful, natural setting. The Hills course at Walden Lake is 18-holes and a second course at the club, the Lakes course, offers another 18-holes.
Ron Garl, golf course architect extraordinaire, designed the spectacular course using the lay of the land to his benefit. He created the course with four sets of tees at each hole so everyone can play. Those who are just starting out or who want to take it easy can play from the front tees and rack up 4,791 total yards. However, those who really want to test their skills can play from the back tees and cover 6,530 yards of territory.
Garl designed the Hills course at Walden Lake Golf & Country Club as a par 72. Although that itself may be a feat for some to conquer, one look at the layout of the course and a whole new appreciation will come forth. The Hills course has wonderful elevation changes; but, that is not all. There is plenty of water - from small lakes and ponds to expansive bodies of water. Accuracy become essential as each golfer tries to get the ball on the green without loosing it…forever. Those who enjoy tranquility will enjoy the charming bridge, while those who fret over hazards will notice sand traps scattered about.
Plant City Florida is located between Tampa Bay and Orlando, Florida. Consequently, it is perfectly situated for golfers and their families to take advantage of the wonderful attractions of both cities - or experience Plant City, itself. Plant City is home to the fun-filled Strawberry Festival. In addition, there is a historical downtown area with restaurants and shops. Tampa Bay is a only about 20 miles away. Golfers can find professional sports teams, the Gulf of Mexico, and plenty of nightlife in Tampa. Most people are familiar with the activities of Orlando, such as Disney World and Universal Studios.
Walden Lake Golf & Country Club has many amenities for its guests. A 27,000 square foot clubhouse will beckon golfers to relax after a long game. The pro shop, snack bar, grill, and full service bar will give golfers a chance to unwind, eat a bite, and shop for the newest golfing essentials. For those who want to warm up, there is a practice facility with a driving range and practice greens. In addition, for a little extra help, Gamester Golf Academy is on-site with professional golf instructors. Fun times and great memories are at Walden Lake’s Hills golf course.
