The front nine of this Gene Bates-designed, par 72 championship golf course flows through heavily wooded terrain, rich in stands of natural pine. The back nine meanders amid salt marsh and wetlands. Surrounded by lush landscaping and native vegetation, each hole is a challenge, taking advantage of its natural setting. But par is achievalbe so that the result of a day's play is satisfaction and enjoyment. The Golf Learning Center at Riverwood also sets Riverwood apart from other golf courses. Here you can play while you learn - and learn while you play. There is an area specifically designed for practicing approach, chip, and sand wedge shots, as well as an 18-hole putting course. These separate areas enable golfers to practice the use of every club in their bag and enhance all aspects of their game.
