Occasionally, a golfer may not have enough time in the day to dedicate towards a full 18-holes of golf. Luckily, Orange Lake Resorts in Orlando, Florida has solved such a dilemma with Crane’s Bend, a 9-hole golf course. Crane's Bend opened for the first time in 1982; however, it was redesigned in 2003 by famous golf course architect, Mike Dasher. Dasher was able to consider every golfer's needs when he transformed Crane's Bend into the fast, challenging course that it is today.
Golfers from all areas of the world will appreciate the details as they meander through Crane's Bend. It is a course that anyone can play as the yardage ranges from 1,342 to 1,901 yards from the back tees. For those just beginning, the front tees will allow them to improve their game without becoming frustrated with the time that a longer course would consume. Golfers with more experience will enjoy the challenge that a 9-hole course can bring, especially from the back tees - with fewer holes there are fewer opportunities to reverse the effect a poor-scoring hole can have on the scorecard total.
One of the favorite design elements at Crane's Bend is a fountain lake. It will instantly calm any nerves that surface and allow golfers to focus on the game at hand. Precision is key and numerous water features, such as ponds and the lapping lake, will force golfers to hit accurate shots. Pines and cypress trees give the course a well-defined look and wildlife can be easily spotted for those in search of birds and other small creatures. The landscaping is ornate with tranquil bridges and greens elevated serenely above water.
