Monarch Golf Club opened its fabulous course to golfers in 1997 and it immediately received rave reviews for its scenic setting and reasonable rates. The golf course at Monarch Golf Club was designed by Len DeBoer. DeBoer made excellent use of the land and was able to maintain the ecology of the area by keeping a large part of the area as a nature preservation.
At 6,141 yards, the course at Monarch Golf Club has something to offer everyone. Golfers will notice significant elevation changes and beautiful scenery as they play the residential course. In addition, they will face a plentitude of bunkers, water on half of the holes, and enough doglegs to challenge even the most expert of players. Players of all levels will appreciate the wide, flat fairways and the fast, undulating greens. Monarch Golf Club is part of the active adult community of Royal Highlands – where golf is an important part of life. In addition, much of the golf club has been preserved as a wetlands area and also boasts sparkling, clear, lakes – so wildlife can be seen throughout the course.
Monarch Golf Club is located in Leesburg, Florida, near the center of the state. It is about 1 ½ hours from Tampa and less than one hour from Orlando. Leesburg is aptly called “Lake City” – it nestles up to several pristine lakes and a picturesque canal. Leesburg is also home to the Venetian Gardens, a large park with a swimming pool, ball field, picnic area, and walking trails. Tampa and Orlando each offer fine dining, professional sports teams, and a vibrant nightlife, as well as a plethora of tourist attractions.
Monarch Golf Club has a pro shop, training facilities, a golf instructor, a restaurant, and a bar. The community is well-maintained and includes an indoor and an outdoor pool, tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, and, of course, great golf.
