Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, Florida is divided into two distinct 18-hole golf courses: the North and South courses. Lake Jovita’s South course opened in 1999 on the original site of the 1924 Lake Jovita golf course that was forced to close during the Great Depression. The South course was designed by PGA Tour professional, Tom Lehman, and golf course architect, Kurt Sandness. The 7153 yard, 220 acre golf course has rolling hills, wide fairways, and plenty of hazards. Each hole is well-planned and designed to please expert and beginner golfers alike.
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club has received recognition from a variety of sources for its community, pro shop and golf courses. Awards include Golfweek’s best residential golf course and best course you can play. Golf Digest credited the South course as being one of the top 30 courses and one of the top semi-private courses in the Tampa Bay area. The pro shop received an award from Golf Business World for being one of the top 100 pro shops across the nation. And, the residential community was ranked one of the top 100 places to live. In addition, PGA Tour qualifying tournaments have been held at Lake Jovita for several years in a row.
Dade City is located approximately 35 minutes from Tampa. Tampa’s attractions for visitors include Busch Gardens, the Museum of Science and Industry and the Bay itself. Fine restaurants, trendy shops, professional sport teams and a thriving nightlife make Tampa a city that everyone can enjoy. As a change of pace, Dade City is a charming town with homey restaurants and a historic district with delightful antique shops. In all, Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club is located ideally for golfers from anywhere.
Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club and its South course are able to attract golfers and their friends and families because of the amazing greens and fairways and fabulous amenities. The South course is - in a word - hilly. In fact, golfers will experience a 94-foot change in elevation on hole number 11. In addition, golfers will find lakes, ponds, forests, well-maintained fairways and rich greens while playing on the South course. Amenities include a 15 acre practice region complete with bunkers and chipping area, a putting green that encompasses a full acre and a facility for private lessons. The 30,000 square foot clubhouse can compete with that of any world-class resort and includes a 2,000 square foot fitness center, clay-surface tennis courts and a refreshing junior-Olympic size pool. Two wonderful restaurants give members and non-members a chance to unwind and refuel.
