When Hunter's Creek Golf Club opened in 1996, it far exceeded the expectations of both local golfers and those from out-of-state. In fact, once word had spread that Lloyd Clifton had designed yet another award-winning 18-hole golf course, golfers could not wait to tee off. Boasting five sets of tees, there is something for everyone at Hunter's Creek. The front tees run a very playable 5,225 yards while the championship tees will pose a challenge for even the most skilled golfer at 7,268 yards.
Lloyd Clifton kept true to form when he created the golf course at Hunter's Creek. He took advantage of the natural terrain. As a result, wide fairways roll with the lay of the land and the greens gracefully undulate. Although located in Orlando, Florida, the course has a "Carolina" feel to it with stately Carolina pines scattered throughout. The greens are well protected by large bunkers and 13 lakes offer a pristine setting while they test every golfer's ability to hit the ball accurately.
The golf course at Hunter's Creek Golf Club has been nationally ranked by the prestigious Golf Digest as one of the Top 75 Public Courses to Play. Because of the national recognition, the well-maintained grounds, and the fabulous layout of the course, it has been an active participant in many nationally golfing events, such as the PGA Tour Qualifier and the US Open Qualifier tournaments. It is also one of the many golf courses that make up the Orlando Golf Trail – perfect for vacationers and locals, alike.
Located in Orlando, Florida, Hunter's Creek is approximately 20 minutes from the Orlando Airport and the Convention Center. It is also near the wonderful attractions at Walt Disney World. A short drive and visitors can also bask in the sun at a beach on either coast, go for an ocean sail, or head out for a deep sea fishing experience. Restaurants, bars, night clubs, dance halls, and much more can create non-stop fun in Orlando, itself. For those who enjoy shopping, both small boutiques and national chains can be found throughout the city.
Hunter's Creek Golf Club has much to offer. The bag drop and beverage cart services are just a little something to make any golfer's time memorable. The 1,200 square foot golf pro shop will have every item necessary - and some unnecessary items, too. The practice range and professional PGA golf staff will help golfers improve and lower their score - always a good thing. Finally, a visit to the on-site restaurant and bar will be the ideal end to any day on the course.
