When Highlands Reserve Golf Club opened its course in 1998 in Davenport, Florida, it truly delighted those who have a zeal for golf and it promptly earned a reputation as being a fun 18-hole course with a dynamic design. The Highlands Reserve
golf course was designed by golf course architect, Mike Dasher. He created the 6,649 yard, par 72 course to challenge and enthuse golfers, while still making it enjoyable for all skill levels.
Highlands Reserve has received great praise from many sources since its opening. It was named one of the top 50 courses by Golf for Women Magazine in 2002. In addition, it was given 3.5 stars by Golf Digest and named in their Places to Play guide. Plus, vacation travel company, Golf Pac, voted it as one of the most requested golf courses several years in a row.
Located moments from Orlando, Florida, Highlands Reserve is not far from busy tourist attractions which include Disney World, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. Exceptional restaurants, stylish shops and a flourishing nightlife are also plentiful in Orlando for those who want a change from the tranquility of Highlands Reserve. In addition, the City of Davenport offers charming shops and restaurants.
Whether visiting Highlands Reserve as a break from the noise of the Orlando tourist attractions or simply to golf, you will enjoy it. It is the perfect mixture of a Carolinas-styled course, courses in Scotland and is even reminiscent of quintessential Florida. The open fairways are lined with pine and citrus trees. The beautiful, large greens are fast and pose a challenge for even the most skilled of golfers. Golfers will also find a driving range, a putting green, practice bunkers, and a clubhouse with a pro shop and a snack bar.
