It may be new. But the course here at Heritage Bay is “ … the most beautiful I have ever seen, with plenty of contour in the fairways and undulating greens that are a tremendous challenge,” according to head Golf and Teaching Professional Tal Buchanan.

The greens are huge, averaging 7,800 undulating square feet. This gives the superintendent many excellent pin position options. Pins can be set up easy, medium — and then there’s the “tourney last day” pin positions that can make it really challenging!

The grass is Ultra Dwarf on the greens and TifSport fairways. The putting surfaces are, according to one tournament organizer, the truest greens he has ever putted. All of the greens and tees are hand mowed for a better playing surface.

The fairways are tight enough for low handicappers but fair for all players. These grasses preclude the need to overseed so there is no “down time” for those agronomic practices found at other courses.
