For visitors to the Orange County National Golf Club & Resort who seek a relaxed golf outing the Crooked Cat Golf Course fits the bill. Not as severe as its sister course Panther Lake, Crooked Cat allows the golfer to choose their path to glory with its wide fairways, fewer trees, and generally more open layouts. However, be advised that precaution is needed since grass bunkers are erratically placed throughout the course, giving it a links-like feel.
One remarkable feature of Crooked Cat Golf Course is that the holes are so dynamically presented that golfers can play the course any number of times, yet feel as if they are encountering it for the first time with each new go.
The course is perfect for those looking to fine-tune their games. The open fairways allow for leeway off the tee – so an opportunity to dust off that driver you have shied away from at tougher courses – and offer less severe penalties for straying off the charted path. The ever-present grass bunkers continually test precision and do well to nurture a golfer’s strategic game. Finally, since it is so wide open, Crooked Cat does allow the wind to definitely play a role in terms of course management, but not to the degree that the golfer feels inordinately handicapped.

To round out its courses, OCN has a 9 hole short course, perfect for those time-restricted occasions or novices. There are also several onsite instruction schools.
