In 1998, the much anticipated El Diablo Golf & Country Club opened to eager golfers in Central Florida. With its beautiful, challenging, and secluded grounds, it has become one of the premier golf facilities in the area. The course at El Diablo was designed by golf course architect, Jim Fazio. He planned the 7,045 yard course (from the back tees) to utilize the tranquility of the area to create a remarkable golfing experience. Golfers of any level of experience are sure to fall in love with El Diablo Golf & Country Club.
As a result of Fazio’s vision, the El Diablo course has received numerous awards from several sources. Specifically, the course was named one of the best, affordable public golf courses in the United States by GOLF DIGEST. It was also ranked one of the top ten courses in the State of Florida by GolfFlorida.com and one of the top twenty courses in six regions by Florida Golf. With such high praises, it is no wonder that golfers are consistently pleased whenever they play a round at El Diablo Golf & Country Club.
El Diablo Golf & Country Club is located in Citrus Springs, Florida, approximately one hour from Orlando, ninety minutes from Tampa, and a mere twenty minutes from Ocala. The location is ideal for golfers and their families on several levels. First, Orlando is home to some of the nation’s top tourist attractions, including Walt Disney World, Epcot Center, MGM and Universal Studios. Orlando also has great restaurants, chic shops, and happening bars and clubs. Then, the Tampa has Busch Gardens, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Zoo, the Aquarium, and the ocean itself. Lastly, although tourist attractions are only a short drive away, the area is very private with no homes on the golf course, and only a few nearby.
Regardless of what draws golfers to El Diablo Golf & Country Club, the par 72, 18-hole golf course is sure to please golf enthusiasts of all levels. Native plant and animal life can be seen throughout the course in a natural setting. The fairways are surrounded by beautiful pine trees and have sharp changes in elevation. The greens are lush, fast, and sloped. Uniquely shaped bunkers are strategically placed along the way and are quite deep. Golfers will also find a brand new 3,000 square foot clubhouse with a restaurant, a pro shop, practice facilities, and a golf instructor who is available for instructions.
