When Eagle Dunes Golf Club opened its course in 2003 in Sorrento, Florida, it greatly pleased those who have a passion for golf and it quickly earned a reputation as being a enjoyable 18-hole course with few crowds. The Eagle Dunes golf course was designed by golf course architect, Mike Dasher. He created the 7024 yard, par 72 course to challenge and excite golfers while still making it fun for all skill levels.
Eagle Dunes has received great praise from many golfers since its opening. Golfers appreciate its value, well maintained greens and beautiful fairways. While the course is currently open to the public, golfers should take advantage of its lush Bermuda grass greens while they can because one day it will become a “members only” facility.
Eagle Dunes is located less than an hour from Orlando, Florida and is not far from any of the Central Florida tourist attractions which include Disney World, Epcot Center, MGM Studios, SeaWorld, and Universal Studios. Excellent restaurants, chic shops and a thriving nightlife are also plentiful in Orlando for those who want a change of pace from the quite and solitude of Eagle Dunes. In addition, the City of Sorrento and nearby Mt. Dora offers quaint shops and restaurants.
Whether visiting Eagle Dunes as a change from the hubbub of the Orlando tourist attractions or simply to golf, it cannot be denied that once you enter its fairways and greens, you will be removed from it all. The golf course is part of the gated community of Sorrento Springs. Whether living in Sorrento Springs or visiting from out-of-state, rolling hills, sand traps and large greens are the norm at Eagle Dunes. In addition, golfers will come head to head with two lakes. Golfers will also find a driving range, a putting green, a temporary clubhouse with a pro shop and a restaurant.
