The beautiful Duran Golf Club opened in 2005 and another championship course was introduced to Florida. The Duran Golf Club was designed by Lewis “Chip” Powell and has challenged and pleased golfers ever since. The course at Duran Golf Club encompasses 7171 yards and is a par 72. It is truly designed to fit all levels of play from beginner to expert.
Throughout the links-style course players will find rolling hills and greens that are “fast and true”. The course was formerly a cattle ranch and sod farm, so the land is rich and fertile. Fifteen ponds and lakes are scattered across the course, as well as local plant-life such as native grasses and palm trees. One can never predict what a round of golf will entail at Duran Golf Club – this is because it is close to the Atlantic Ocean, in Viera, Florida, where the ocean breezes can change golfer strategy hole-by-hole.
Golfers praise the Duran Golf Club for its well-maintained greens, the professional staff, great value and the forgiving fairways. In addition, it has been termed “uniquely challenging” by golfers who dared to test the course. Golfing patrons have also noted the impressive nature of the on-site restaurant and events center. Also, several tournaments and PGA qualifying events are hosted at Duran each year.
Duran Golf Club is in the City of Viera, located near the Atlantic Ocean – perfect for those who love to golf and to swim, sail or fish. Those who are new to the area will find restaurants, shops and a great movie theater. However, one of the best attractions is Duran Golf Club.
In addition to amazing golf, golfers will find a 10,000 square foot, British West Indies-inspired clubhouse and a decadent restaurant called the Tradewinds. The restaurant serves as the hub of events hosted by the Duran Golf Club. There is also a pro shop, a golf academy, and a full bar.
